Sturm, & Co., Inc. One of the nation's leading manufacturers of durable and reliable firearms for the commercial sporting market. It has been a model of corporate and community responsibility. Our motto "Firearm Makers for Responsible Citizens" reflects our commitment to these principles as we work hard to provide quality and innovative firearms. The Ruger LCR may look like an old revolver straight out of an old western movie, but make no mistake. This is not your average revolver. Ruger introduced the Lightweight Compact Revolver (LCR) in 2009, and since then, it has become the concealed carry choice for many gun owners due to its durability, size and convenience. Revolvers are making a comeback, and when you see the LCR review, you'll see why.
Most people use LCR for concealment because of its ease of use. It is designed for use at short distances, optimizing ten to fifteen yards for accuracy. However, using LCR for precision shooting is not the best use of your time. Honestly, the sights on this rifle aren't great.
However, you can certainly mount sights on the gun to increase accuracy. The front camera is removable, so installing your own fiber optic camera or any other camera of your choice is not too much of a problem.
Preowned, Excellent Condition, Ruger Lcr Double Action Revolver, .38 Spl +p, 1.9″ Stainless Steel Barrel, Matte Black Finish, Hogue Tamer Monogrip Grip, U Notch Integral Rear & Ramp Front Sight, 5 Rounds: Sold –
There's a reason revolvers are still popular in a world full of semi-autos. They are incredibly durable, the LCR is good for at least thousands of rounds. It is designed to be used and used often. If you don't shoot regularly, you can use it for ten years, maybe more.
This gun is great to have. The gun features the Hogue Tamer Monogrip, which is a rubberized grip that allows the user to hold the gun firmly and securely. This is exactly what you want in a gun that is intended to be used for carry and primary concealment. In any case, you should pay attention to how careful you are with the handle - this is not unusual when pulling clothes out.
Its trigger has a bit of a "click" before it resets. You have to fully release the trigger and skip live to fire another round. If you're not used to it, it's a little difficult to shoot the gun quickly, but that shouldn't be a problem for you because that's not what this gun is designed for. It's just a small glitch that you get used to after a few laps.
Revolvers don't accept magazines, so you have to reload the gun by inserting one bullet at a time. It's a little boring, but it's not a weapon you should carry as your primary weapon. The difficulty of reloading is what makes the gun great as a hide or backup weapon.
Ruger Lcr 9mm Revolver Review & Field Test
The LCR weighs 13.5 ounces, which makes sense since it has "light" in its name. It is also only 6.5 inches long and 4.5 inches high. This gun is very light because it is made of aluminum and polymer. The LCR has a minimalist feel. It's not flashy or anything, but it does what it wants. Additionally, the barrel accounts for 1.87 inches of the firearm.
The LCR has quite a bit of punch for a gun of this size, so you have to keep that in mind when using it. Still, Ruger took this into account when they fitted the Hogue "Tamer Monogrip" to the grip. There's definitely a kick, but nothing to freak out about. It also appeals to many new shooters because of its ease of use. This is part of what makes this revolver great for concealed carry and concealment.
Whether you choose to go with the LCR or the LCRx (which is three inches larger), this gun costs $579. It's a lot more expensive than your average revolver, but it's a higher-end firearm with a proven track record. There's a reason you have to pay for it. If you're looking for a pocket gun but don't want to spend the dough, check out the S&W 380.
This gun is one of the best he makes. I wouldn't buy it to prove superior shooting or as a staple for a hunting trip, but I wouldn't recommend anything else for concealed carry or as a concealed weapon. Of course, there are other options like the Colt King Cobra or the aforementioned S&W 380, but simply put, the LCR is a quality, durable gun. If you like Ruger products, you can use the LCR for concealed carry and save the GP100 for home defense.
